Questions
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to what most people ask first.
What is 67° North?
We partner with experienced tradespeople and service professionals to build local service companies they co-own and run. It's a partnership, not a job, a franchise or a program.
Is this a job?
No. It's a partnership to build a company you'll help own and eventually run. At the start you'll likely do some of the work yourself. The goal is for you to grow into leading the team.
Is this a franchise? Are there fees?
No. There's nothing to buy and no fee to apply or join. You'd be building an independent local company with us as your partner.
Do I need money to invest?
It's not required. We provide the capital to launch. Partners who want to invest their own capital can, and that can increase their ownership. It depends on the terms we agree on together.
How does ownership work?
Ownership is earned over time as the business is built. Terms are worked out individually with serious candidates, reviewed by legal and financial professionals, and put in writing before anything is final.
How much can I earn?
It depends on how the business grows and on the partnership terms. We discuss compensation openly with serious candidates. We don't make income promises, because the results come from what we build together.
Will I still be doing the work myself?
Early on, probably yes. As the company grows, the goal is for you to spend less time on the tools and more time hiring, training and leading your team. If you'd rather keep doing the hands-on work full-time long-term, this probably isn't the right fit.
Do I need to already own a business?
No. Many great candidates work for a company in their trade today. If you run your own business, that's welcome too; tell us about it in your application.
Can I keep my current customers?
Often, yes. We focus on quality customers, so we'll review your existing customers together. Those who fit our pricing and standards can usually come with you into the new company.
What does 67° North do, and what do I do?
We handle the business side: initial customers, capital, marketing, technology, bookkeeping and reporting, pricing, and strategy. You run the business day to day: your team, scheduling, quality and customer relationships.
Where are you based?
We're based in Spokane, Washington.
What happens after I apply?
We read every application personally. If there looks to be a fit, we'll reach out within a week to set up a conversation, followed by an in-person meeting.
Do I need my own insurance, license or equipment?
We'll work through business setup (insurance, licensing, equipment and supplies) together as part of launching the company.
Is my application confidential?
Yes. Your information is used only to evaluate you for this opportunity and isn't shared. See our privacy policy.
Have a question that isn't here? Ask us after you apply. We're happy to talk it through.
